What WE Eat

Our personal paleo AIP diet will vary from most due to my intense food sensitivities, but I am assuming that I am not the only person on the planet like me. 😉 So I thought it might be nice to have a section that showed only what we eat in our home.

I know how incredibly frustrating and overwhelming this whole journey has been for us, so if there is someone else out there in the same situation, I wanted to offer something…anything. I couldn’t find anything that fit my needs when searching for recipes, so we have been forced to create our own…I hope these can offer you some help in this sea of confusion that is “food sensitivities”.

All recipes on NYT are totally:

GLUTEN FREE, DAIRY FREE, GRAIN FREE, LEGUME FREE, SUGAR FREE, PROCESSED OIL FREE, CORN FREE, YEAST FREE, SOY FREE, & CAFFEINE FREE (aside from the necessary chocolate 😉  )

In addition, in our home we follow the AIP with some added restrictions…so this also makes our in house recipes NIGHTSHADE FREE, EGG FREE, and NUT & SEED free (that includes seed based spices). As well as limiting fruit and not consuming any starchy vegetables at the moment…such as sweet potatoes, butternut squash, pumpkin, etc. I seem to have increased symptoms when consuming these foods, so we are limiting them until my gut has a chance to heal a bit more.

The quality of foods used in all recipes:

Grass fed meats, Wild caught fish, Organic/Local fruits and vegetables when available, Raw nuts and seeds, Virgin coconut and olive oils or natural animal fats such as tallow from grass fed beef, & LOTS of herbs and spices. There is also a small dose of raw honey and grade B maple syrup from time to time. 🙂
