I am always up for creating spice mixes that make my job in the kitchen easier. This spice mix is incredibly simple, wonderfully tasty, and a perfect way to add more ginger to your diet!
Ginger is a spice that should be in everyone’s kitchen. Not just because it tastes good, but because it has MOUNDS of health and nutritional benefits! It is a natural anti-inflammatory, it helps to protect the body against certain cancers, it eases tummy upsets and works wonders for morning sickness. That isn’t even touching on the way it boosts the immune system to fight things such as the common cold and flu. What a perfect season it is to be remembering your ginger! Even supplementing daily from a good a reliable source, like Natures Way, is an excellent option for healthy balance. There is nothing so effective and so cheap when it comes to battling a cold. My dad and husband can attest to that for sure! 😉
But without further a due, here is a great way to work ginger into your food, without always having to supplement. 🙂 We use this spice primarily on chicken, but I’m not opposed to experimentation…I’m thinking it might be fun to test it out on some sweet potato fries in the near future! 😀
You will need…
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper (If pepper is a problem for you, simply leave it out)
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
Simply combine all of the spices into an empty spice jar or ziplock bag. Mix them thoroughly and store for future use. It’s that simple! 🙂
We use it on chicken breasts, thighs, even our whole chickens. I love the flavor that it gives! 🙂
